Pregnancy aslways comes as a surprise — even when it’s planned. In this post, let’s explore how to make the most of this time.
If I suddenly disappear from the blog for more than a week, know this: the baby bump and I are off traveling again! My little one has already been to 8 countries — that’s more than half of my “pre-bump” travel record.
So let’s celebrate this symbolic eight — with the eighth post in my cozy space for thoughts, discoveries, and warm conversations. Let’s talk about how to fill your pregnancy with meaning.
Traveling While Pregnant — Why Not!
The third trimester has started, and I’ll admit — things have gotten noticeably harder. The bump is growing fast, and soon the airlines might start suspecting I’m almost there… I don’t want to get stuck somewhere between borders, so it’s time to slow down a bit.
But I’m not planning to be bored at home either — instead, I want to share thoughts, experiences, and inspiration with you.
What to Do During Pregnancy? The Options Are Endless!
Strangely enough, many people ask: “What should I do with myself during pregnancy?”
To me, the first pregnancy opens more options — not fewer! A whole new world unfolds: your body changes, your psyche changes, your interests shift too.
The truth is, most of us aren’t prepared: neither school nor family teaches us about sexuality, conscious parenting, pregnancy, or childbirth.
So even when pregnancy is planned, it still comes as a surprise. And that’s beautiful — because that’s where real curiosity about life begins.
My Personal “To-Do” During Pregnancy:
As soon as I heard the inner voice whisper “stop” — I quit my job. And… it all began!
- I made a reading list (not just about pregnancy!);
- I started this blog — hello, you’re in it now;
- I created a home SPA: masks, baths, oils;
- I became a freelancer — because having your own income is pleasant and important;
- I started coloring anti-stress coloring books;
- I picked up language learning again (if not now, then when?);
- I redistributed household chores;
- I created a healthy eating and exercise plan;
- And most importantly — I listen to myself.
Don’t Know Where to Start?
Here are some ideas:
- Online courses (a new skill or certificate? Great idea!)
- Creative outlets: knitting, embroidery, painting, home decor
- Personal growth: mindfulness, pregnancy journaling, meditation
- Hobbies: cooking experiments, photography, exploring music
- Planning: baby purchases, financial planning, movie or series lists for cozy evenings
📩 If you’re out of ideas — just ask, I have a whole pile!
Or Maybe… Pregnancy Is a Time to Do Nothing?
That’s valid too. Especially if:
- You’re exhausted;
- You haven’t had a chance to truly rest;
- You just want to lie down and listen to yourself and your baby.
Pregnancy is your time, and you don’t need to explain or justify it.
Someone doesn’t get it? A nagging mother-in-law, a toxic partner, pushy colleagues — let them go.
This isn’t selfishness. It’s responsibility — to a new life that deserves to be born into safety, peace, and love. And you are the one who can give that.
🎯 Ask yourself two core questions:
- What makes me feel calm?
- What makes me feel happy?
And give that to yourself.
Takeaways from My Pregnancy Experience:
During the first trimester, I was working — and that helped distract me from the nausea.
But the moment I quit — my baby kicked for the first time. And didn’t stop.
It felt like a sign: “You did the right thing.”
A standing, stressful job with shifts — not for me while pregnant.
Now, in the third trimester, it’s harder to carry myself, but I’m staying active.
Here is great advice on physical activity during pregnancy.
I’ve always been annoyed by the “What did you expect — you’re pregnant, and it’s hot” kind of stories.
No, that’s not a reason to collapse on a haystack and neglect yourself. Quite the opposite — it’s the perfect time to take even better care of yourself.
A Wish to End With
May this pregnancy be not only a physical process for you,
but a period of strength, wisdom, and renewal.
Be gentle with yourself — but don’t ignore yourself.
Nurture not just the body, but also the soul.
Your baby feels it.
✨ Wishing all of us health, strength, and a little inspiration for each day.
